I also loved the way the author wove into the story bits of classic children's literature。 Highly recommended for ages 8-12; could also make a good read-aloud。 。。。more

A heartprint historical fiction story set in the 1940s in England with themes of family and home。 The loving, trusting relationship among siblings William, Edmund and Anna is one I won’t soon forget。

I loved this sweet book! Three orphans are sent to the country from London during World War 2 hoping to find a home and someone who thinks they “hang the moon。” You can’t help but love the children and cheer them on。 It is a book about love, family, and most of all hope。 It’s a beautiful story and reads like a classic。

I loved this book。 I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and liked the way that the books that they were reading were integrated into the story and even into their lives。 I totally relate with the comfort that a book can bring when things are tumultuous or uncertain。It was a quick read and a heartwarming story。 The perfect book to curl up with on a cold dismal day。

OH MY GOSH。 I loved this book MORE THAN I CAN PUT INTO WORDS。 It made me cry so many times (I’m officially out of my reading rut, yay!)。 I’m such a sucker for a good WWII-evacuee-children story, and this one with its Narnian roots and Christmassy feel could not have been more perfect (it reminded me of The War That Saved My Life)。 I fell completely in love with William’s protective and responsible nature, Anna’s gentle heart and love for books, and Edmund’s sweet tooth and outspoken nature。 And OH MY GOSH。 I loved this book MORE THAN I CAN PUT INTO WORDS。 It made me cry so many times (I’m officially out of my reading rut, yay!)。 I’m such a sucker for a good WWII-evacuee-children story, and this one with its Narnian roots and Christmassy feel could not have been more perfect (it reminded me of The War That Saved My Life)。 I fell completely in love with William’s protective and responsible nature, Anna’s gentle heart and love for books, and Edmund’s sweet tooth and outspoken nature。 And of course Mrs。 Muller was just the most wonderful and so many of my childhood favorite books were part of the story。 The ending was a bit abrupt (and kind of too happy? Not that I'm mad about it though) and some of the other characters from earlier in the book kind of fell off with no closure, but I absolutely loved this book SO MUCH。 Can’t wait for more from this author。—“This story, this night, set them on the path to dreams that felt rather like hope。” 。。。more

If I had to describe A Place to Hang the Moon in one word it would be “cozy” because that’s how it made me feel reading it。 The main characters are so likable (but not annoyingly so) you root for them from the beginning。 Their journey to find a home and family while evacuated from London during WWII is filled with disappointments but they grow closer together。 Eventually they find someone who needs them just as much as they need someone。 Fans of The War That Saved My Life will love this story。
